Vicky Sunohara

Scarborough born and raised, Vicky Sunohara, is a veteran and highly respected member of the Canadian Women’s Olympic Hockey Team. She took home her first silver medal in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano Japan followed by Gold in Salt Lake City in 2002 and of course the most recent Gold in the 2006 Turin Games. Vicky has been alternate captain of the Canadian national team since 2001. Besides the Olympics, Vicky has won several gold medals for Canada at international ice hockey competitions. Vicky plays, and is captain, for the Brampton Thunder, a team in the National Women’s Hockey League. Vicky Sunohara is credited with training and mentoring many of the young players on our current winning Olympic team and has been an exceptional role model for young girls in the sport.
