Occupancy information is for your safety and convenience and to help you plan for your visit. Shopping centre capacity is calculated using physical distancing guidelines and follows the Government of Ontario’s regulations effective December 19th, 2021.
Real-time centre capacity is shown at the top of this website and indicates the current occupancy level based on capacity limits set out by the Government of Ontario.
STC’s maximum capacity under current public health guidelines is 10,700.
Green 0-74% | Stores should not have significant lineups.
Yellow 75%-89% | Plan ahead, expect lineups.
Red 90%-99% | Approaching maximum capacity.
Red 100% | Expect to lineup outside of centre. Access restricted to one-in, one-out.
How often are you updating this information?
STC's management will receive live updates on how many guests are in the mall via the traffic counting system.
How do stores manage capacity? Are you able to provide capacity for every store?
The maximum capacity of each store will be posted on the store front. Each store will manage their own line ups. You may also refer to our virtual line available here for a more convenient and safe storefront pick-up. Through this tool, you will receive a text confirming your position in line and average wait time.
How will capacity levels be communicated? What happens if the area has reached max capacity or is in the red zone?
Centre capacity will be posted on our website to assist guests in planning their visit and determine the best times to shop. Once capacity level reaches 80%, security staff will be positioned at select entrances in preparation to close our doors, should we reach capacity and need to operate on a one-out, one-in system. Once capacity level reaches "Red" or 100%, select entrances will operate on a one-out, one-in system. Security staff will monitor these entrances and ensure physical distancing is being maintained in line-ups to enter the shopping centre.
